Our history
1967
Staff from SuperTex Clothing Shop united to promote inclusion and support for children with disabilities. Eros School began as a community-funded pilot school for previously disadvantaged children with Cerebral Palsy.
1999
Eros School’s students increasingly participated in areas and activities from which they previously may have been excluded. These have since included various sports, events and competitions, entrepreneurship training, environmental projects, representing South Africa in the Paralympic Games in Athens, and much more! 2003 saw Former President Nelson Mandela visiting and meeting the Eros School family.
2019
Eros School celebrated its 50th Anniversary. The Academic Programme following the CAPS curriculum was made available for grades pre-R to 12, with the first National Senior Certificate (NSC) being written at the school in 2016; the Technical Occupational Phase (TOP); and the Enrichment Class as part of the pilot for the Children with Severe to Profound Intellectual Disability (CSPID).
